Elder Law
Locating the appropriate type of care, coordinating private and public resources to finance the cost of care, and
working to ensure her client's right to quality care are all part of Lynn's Elder Law practice.  By devoting a
significant amount of her practice to Elder Law, Lynn brings more to her senior clients than an expertise in the
appropriate area of law. She brings a knowledge of seniors that allows her to effectively advocate for them in a
society of ageism and sterotypes about the "elderly." Lynn takes into account and empathizes with some of the true
physical and mental difficulties that often accompany the aging process. Her understanding of the afflictions of the
aged allows her to determine more easily the difference between the physical versus the mental disability of a client.
She is more aware of real life problems, health and otherwise, that tend to crop up as people age. She is also tied
into a system of social workers, psychologists and other elder care professionals in the Berkshire community who
may be of assistance to her senior clients. Lynn treats her senior clients with respect, patience and compassion in
an effort to create an atmosphere of trust and ease in dealing with their legal matters.

                             What is Elder Law?

"Elder Law" is not a distinct legal practice area. It is a term that
encompasses a wide range of legal practice areas as they pertain
to the senior client.  Lynn focuses on all of the legal needs of her
senior clients, working with a variety of legal tools and techniques
to meet their specific goals and objectives.

Under this holistic approach, Lynn works with senior clients on
general
Estate Planning issues and counsels them about planning
for incapacity with documents such as
Health Care Proxies and
Powers of Attorney. Lynn also assists her senior clients and their
caregivers in planning for possible long-term care needs, including
nursing home care and Guardianships.
